The real estate market is one of the most popular ways to invest. For many many years real estate has been a great way to invest. You could buy a home and fix it up and then turn around and sell it for a profit. Sounds easy? Well, it was for a while. Then came the down economy and all of the bad things that came with it. Many investors lost a lot of money during this because they didn't anticipate the housing market exploding the way that it did.

His name is Carlos Justo and he has sold real estate for and to celebrities such as Gloria Estefan, Shaquille O' Neal, and Jennifer Lopez to name a few and the list goes on. He spent big and gambled on the real estate market staying strong and he lost big. He is virtually broke now and trying to get his way back up the ladder and making plans, but this just goes to show you that the real estate market has knocked down many.

Now that things are rebounding a bit, the best thing you can do if you want to invest in real estate is to do research on the areas you plan on investing. If you invest in an area that has been relatively unharmed by the real estate bubble due to whatever reason you should of course invest there first. It's a great way to begin your investment journey. You will want to see if there are profits in the commercial or the residental real estate arenas.

Of course then you will want to see if renting or if doing repairs and upgrades to the property and reselling it for a profit is the best thing to do. If renting is the best thing, you will want to analyze the markets and see what a fair rental price will be for the unit that you are purchasing. Check out comparable units and find out the price that you need to make it fair. This will make it easier for you to rent your place out quick if it's priced fair.

If you plan on selling the real estate that you invest in, make sure of course you get a home inspection. Fix any problems that need to be addressed so when you're at the closing table about to sell your home, the buyers don't start getting cold feet because of a few issues. Take care of that so it doesn't even come up. It's a great way to make money and it's also a nice sense of accomplishment even when selling homes because you are selling something that people truly want and that is a home. That makes the investment much easier.
